Raymond Edward Moore, 77, passed away on August 17, 2024 after a short illness. Born on May 28, 1947, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Raymond was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, known for his generosity and kindness. He and his wife, Barbara, met through her grandfather when they were 14 years old and married when they were 21. They made East Hampton, CT their home for over 50 years and always gave back to their community.

Raymond graduated from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford and dedicated 36 years of his career to The Children's Home of Cromwell, where he served as the Director of Maintenance. His commitment to service extended beyond his professional life into his personal passions. He was an active member of the Anchor Lodge #112 of East Hampton, where he held the position of Master several times and mentored countless Masons. Additionally, he held leadership positions with the Sphinx Shriners and was President of the Caravan Shrine Club.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Barbara, and was looking forward to celebrating 56 years of marriage together later this month. He also leaves his daughters, Renee Gaudette and her husband Chris, and Robyn Steinman and her husband Jeff; grandchildren, Mitchell, Bryan, Alex, and Rachel Gaudette and Mackenzie and Zachary Steinman. He was preceded in death by their son, Robert Moore.

Raymond took pride in keeping in touch with extended family, and introducing Barbara, Renee, and Robyn to relatives across the country. Their annual vacations and road trips were a highlight of his, and created cherished memories for the family.

Calling hours will be held at Spencer's Funeral Home, 112 Main Street, East Hampton on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 5-7pm. A burial service will be celebrated on Thursday, August 22 at 11am at Lakeside Cemetery in East Hampton, CT.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492, in memory of Raymond. His family hopes his legacy of service and care will continue to inspire those who knew him.
