It is with broken hearts that the family of Krystal Lynn Eliassen announces her unexpected passing, which occurred on August 17, 2024. Born in Saint John, NB, on November 3, 1985, she was the daughter of Sylvia Smith and the late Mark Eliassen.

Krystal will be remembered for her friendly, outgoing personality. She was fiercely independent, hardworking, and a loyal friend who had a generous heart and a caring soul. She would help anyone she could, even when she struggled with helping herself.

Krystal loved her family, especially her children and granddaughter, as well as soon-to-arrive grandson. She was proud of her children. As a young mother, she worked hard and did her best to provide for her family. She always made sure her children never went without.

She will be missed beyond words by her 3 children: Rebecca Dawn Folkins-Eliassen (Thomas Nice), Cody Mark Folkins-Eliassen (Destinee Christiansen), and Leah Eliassen; grandchildren: Violet Rose and Charlie; her mother: Sylvia Smith (Bob); and brothers Matthew Smith (Stephanie), and Andrew; maternal grandmother: Ruth Smith; Papa: Doug Baxter; her best friend Carrie Mattie (Landry); special friend and father figure: Ron Gordon (Ann); aunt and uncle April and Victor Babineau; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her father, Krystal was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Donnie Smith, and paternal grandmother Linda Baxter.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). A visitation for Krystal will take place on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 6:00-8:00pm. The Celebration of Life will be held the following day at 2:00PM from the Fundy Chapel. Donations in memory of Krystal can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
