Norma Sprouse Obituary

Blacksburg -- Norma Pennington Sprouse, 82, of 106 North Calles Street, passed away on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, at Peachtree Centre.


Born in Gaffney, SC, she was the widow of Billy Joe Sprouse and the daughter of the late John and Estella Batchelor Pennington. Norma formerly worked in textiles and attended New Harvest Church of God.


Surviving Mrs. Sprouse are her brothers, Johnny Pennington, Ricky Pennington, and Gaylan Pennington; her sisters, Brenda Lawter, Wanda Duke, Myra Nivens, and Donna Ligon; her grandchildren, Michael Lane, Danielle Sprouse, and Aaron Sprouse; and her great-grandchildren, Mason and Elinora.


In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sprouse was preceded in death by her son, Billy Lee Sprouse, and her brother, Haskell Pennington.


The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will be Friday, August 23, 2024 at 2:00 pm at New Life Ministries Church of God of Prophecy, 809 Batchelor Drive, Blacksburg, SC with Rev. Robert Wells and Rev. Shaun Thompson officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Blacksburg. Gaylan Pennington, John Pennington, Joey Byars, Alan Byars, Rick Pennington, Larry Pennington, Brian Pennington, Michael Nivens, and Brian Mosley will serve as pallbearers.


The family will be at their individual residences and will gather at Danielle's home at 431 North Charleston Street, Blacksburg, SC on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from l:00-5:00 pm.
