Stephen J. "Bossman" Conques Obituary
CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at a 3:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Parlor in Carencro for Stephen Joseph Conques, age 72, who passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 at his residence in Carencro.
Deacon David Menard will officiate at the services.
Stephen was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. He dedicated over forty-two years to running Conques Trucking and Conquest. He enjoyed Hot Rods, Harleys, and, of course, hauling azz. His contributions to the trucking industry were significant, and his enthusiasm for life left a lasting impact on those around him.
Survivors include his five children, Julie Conques and honorary son in law, Kevin Romero, of Youngsville, Nicole Conques, and Natalie Conques, both of Carencro, Lance Conques of Carencro, Brock Conques and honorary daughter in law, Brooke Romero, of Carencro; one stepson, Jamie Barlow of Port Allen; fourteen grandchildren, Simone Romero, Cameron Romero, Emma Scout Romero, Hunter Noel, Kane Arceneaux, Coy Clavelle, Cole Clavelle, Colin Clavelle, and Claire Clavelle, Isaac Gauthier, Baylor Conques, Eugenee Derouen, Graci Derouen, and Sabyn Derouen; two great grandchildren, Presli Jane Touchet and Brooks Paul Blanchard and seven siblings, Sandra Martin, Martha Menard, Tessie Weber, Cindy Comeaux, Kenny Conques, Cathy Schexnayder, and Diane Boutte.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert James Conques, and the former Anna Lee Mouton; and two sisters, Suzanne Maturin, and Becky Conques.
A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until service time on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Lance Conques, Brock Conques Cameron Romero, Kane Arceneaux, Coy Clavelle, and Issac Gauthier. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Noel, Baylor Conques, Cole Clavelle, Colin Clavelle, and Jamie Barlow.
