Mrs. Zandra Kay Bumgarner Lyalls, age 69, of West Jefferson passed away Saturday morning, August 17, 2024 at Glenbridge Health & Rehab Center.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Harless officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 12:00-1:00pm; one hour prior to the memorial service.

Mrs. Lyalls was born in Alamance County on September 22, 1954 to the late Zane and Mary Lou Faw Bumgarner. She retired from Mountainview Elementary School; where she worked as a teacher’s assistant. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and was a great housekeeper. But her biggest joy was loving her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burl Loston Lyalls on February 12, 2017.

Mrs. Lyalls is survived by: a son, B.J. Lyalls (Jessica), of West Jefferson; a daughter, Christine Farrington, of Hayes; a stepdaughter, Amy Tilley (Paul), of Jefferson; two sisters, Teresa Miller (Earl), of Glendale Springs and Patricia Rice (Richard), of Chattanooga, TN; a brother, Robin Bumgarner, of Wilkesboro; six grandchildren, Loston Lyalls, Adalyn Lyalls, Kenleigh Lyalls, Kaden Farrington, Madison Farrington and Ashley Tilley; several nieces and nephews also survive.
