Frances Solano peacefully passed on to Glory on Saturday, August 17th, 2024. Fran was born October 17th, 1938, in the Bronx, NY to her loving parents, Frank and Margaret Calamari.  She is predeceased by her loving husband, Dennis M. Solano, Sr.  They were married April 4th, 1959.  She is survived by her ten siblings – Margaret (Peggy), Helene, John, Frank, Rita, Joan, Louise, Michael, Gerard, and Joseph. Fran was a loving and supportive Mother of her four children, Denise, Dennis, Jr., Frank, and Richard, her son-in-law Paul, daughters-in-law Judy and Yudis, her grandchildren, Paul Jr., Dennis, Dana, Nicholas, Richard Jr., Steven, Thomas, David and Victoria, and great-grandchildren Olivia, Gabriella, Mia, Dylan, and Maya, whom were all the joys of her life. Fran attended Mt. Vernon schools and graduated from Edison High School. She worked for the Mt. Vernon Board of Education at Mt. Vernon High School. Fran was a devoted Catholic, faithful parishioner of St. Mary’s-Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Mount Vernon, and supported many parish ministries, especially those for the youth of the parish. She also supported the annual Parkinson’s Unity Walk in honor of her daughter, Denise. Fran was a selfless woman and always expressed her love and care for others through simple, but impactful, gestures such as making phone calls, mailing hand-written cards, and sending frequent texts. She loved visiting friends in hospitals and nursing homes, bringing a brightness to their day, and traveling to see family members near and far. She was a woman of humility in all that she did, always thinking of not only her family, but all who walked into her daily life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
