Sara Kathleen Johnson Ledford, 75, of Elam Street, Lawndale, joined her beloved husband in heaven on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, on January 12, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Griffin Johnson and Earnestine Robinson Johnson. Sara was retired from Fiber Industries and Celanese. She attended Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church. One of Sara and her husband's favorite things to was bass fish, often fishing tournaments and winning.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Donald Robert Ledford.

She is survived by her daughter, Ava Padgett and husband Ray of Lawndale; a brother, Ray Johnson and wife Sylvia of Shelby; and a granddaughter, Jessica Abercrombie and husband Mark .

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church with the Rev. Harry Queen, Rev Fred Towery and Rev. Don Allen officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the New Home United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family kindly asks that everyone wear tie-dye or bright colored shirts for Sara's service.
