David E. Henning, 80 of Boyne Falls, Michigan, passed away on August 17, 2024, at his home.

Son of Freda (Spohn) and Irvin Henning, David was born on August 18, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan.

On April 20, 1968, he married Susan Laura Shunk in Boyne Falls at St. Augustine Catholic Church.

David worked at General Motors Buick Division in Flint, Michigan for 32 years.

His hobbies included collecting antiques cars, pinball machines, traveling and he enjoyed golf.

David was a member of the UAW Local 599.

David is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan of Boyne Falls; his mother Freda Spohn; his sisters Kathy Huber of Flushing, Michigan, and Lisa (Keith) Fitzpatrick of Harbor Springs, Michigan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father Irvin Henning; stepfather Tony Kullik; brother Don Kullik; sister Loretta (Bill) Deltlaff; and brother-in-law Dan Huber.

A memorial mass officiated by Father Dennis Stilwell will be on August 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and burial will follow mass at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery.
