Funeral services for Wise Jerald Crapps, 79, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Bredholt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Judes Childrens’ Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or Cedar Grove Cemetery Fund, 1220 Cedar Grove Rd., Leesville, SC 29070. Barr Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is assisting the family.

  Mr. Crapps was born February 8, 1945 and passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024. He was a son of the late Karl Crapps and Florine Bedenbaugh Crapps. A dedicated truck driver for Southeastern Freight Lines for 53 years, Wise accumulated over 4 million safe miles during his career. His commitment to safety and excellence was admired by many.

  Wise was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He cherished his role within the family, always bringing joy and wisdom to those around him. His memory will be fondly remembered by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

 He was a proud member of the Masons and found great camaraderie and purpose in his involvement. Wise had a special appreciation for the simple pleasures in life, especially enjoying a cold beverage.

  He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Crapps. Wise is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Crapps (LeeAnn), Jason Crapps (Kim); brothers, Michael “Mike” Crapps (Sherrie), Kevin “Kevy” Crapps (Sally); grandchildren, Alden Crapps (Abegail), Ean Crapps, Troy Crapps, Levi Crapps, Emily Rose Crapps; great-grandchildren, McKinley Crapps and Lainey Crapps.

  He will be remembered for his generous spirit, dedication to his work, and the love he shared with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and respect that will be cherished by all who knew him.
