Helmut R. Weiss 83, of Newfane, NY, husband of Judy R. Weiss (Nee Slaght) entered into rest on August 16th, 2024, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Born on March 12th, 1941, in Breslau, Germany to the late Herbert and Hedwig Gralla Weiss. Helmut served honorably in the United States Army and was stationed back in Germany. He was a welder by trade retiring after 33 years at General Motors/Harrison Radiator.

Helmut started his working career doing landscaping for several families in Lockport and continued to do that even while working at GM and into his retirement years. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and archery.

Surviving is his wife, Judy Weiss; his children, Walter (Suzanne) Weiss and Cassondra (Myles) Skinner; his brother Konrad (Valmai) Weiss; grandchildren, Jillian and Zachary Weiss and Ian Skinner, also several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on TUESDAY from 4-7 PM. at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME INC. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY 14108. Funeral services will conclude the evening at 7:00 PM. With Rev. Kim Smith. Memorial in lieu of flowers may be made to a charity of your choosing.
