John Francis Lathroum, “Johnny Buck”, 67, of Leonardtown, MD, passed away on August 13, 2024 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on June 24, 1957 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the loving son of the late Violet Elizabeth Lathroum and the late George Wallace Lathroum, Sr. John is survived by his son, Michael Lathroum, of Hollywood, MD, his siblings Teenie Boy Lathroum of Leonardtown, MD, Bubba Lathroum of Hollywood, MD, David Lee Lathroum (Paula) of Leonardtown, MD, Glen Lathroum of Clements, MD, Judy Adams (Brett) of Leonardtown, MD, and Sharon Woodburn (Bernie) of Leonardtown, MD. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Woods.
John attended Chopticon High School and was a maintenance technician for Bell Motor Company for over 12 years.
John was an avid NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhart being his favorite driver. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, playing bingo with the family, and going to car shows. John was also a member of the Bucksnorts and was number 655.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Brett Adams, D.J. Lathroum, Corey Woodburn, Kevin Lathroum, Steve Knott, and Joseph Greenwell.
