Michael (Muki) Tautvaisas passed away Monday, August 12, 2024. He was a kind soul loved by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents Monika and Povilas, along with his brother Paul (Betty).

Many cousins along with their children and grandchildren mourn his loss: Marie (Dennis) Stankiewicz and children David, Lisa (Steve) and Peter (Natalie). Angela Kazakevicius (Bill, deceased) and children Annika (Clint) and Alex. Nora (Saulius) Gylys and children Gina (Ben), Daiva (Jon) and Justin. Mark (Lisa) Simkus and children Jacob and Jasmine. Anthony Kazakevicius, son of Tony Sr. (deceased), with (Corie) and children Katie, Maddie, and Ben.

Michael was born February 13, 1949 in Germany, and grew up in Chicago. He graduated from Marquette University with an Engineering degree. He retired from the Metropolitan Sanitary District having acquired a Professional Engineer Certification.

Michael was a man of many interests: cooking, cars, racket ball, tennis, and swimming. “Beach” Mike loved the beaches of Union Pier, Hawaii, and San Diego (where he often visited to take care of his mother). He was a music lover, gifted storyteller, and sharp dressed man.

He was a gracious party host who enjoyed bringing people together. He cherished every opportunity to be with friends and family. Muki made lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 8th, 3:00 to 8:00 pm Central Time at Petkus Funeral Home and Monday, September 9th, 9:00 – 10:00 am at Blessed Jurgis Matulaitis Mission, 14911 127th Street, Lemont, IL. followed by Mass. Procession will follow to St. Casimir Cemetery, 4401 W 111th Street, Chicago, IL.
