David Johnson Obituary

David Clayton Johnson, affectionately known as Dave or DJ, passed away on July 29, 2024, at the age of 53, in Campbell, California. Born on December 31,1970, in Santa Clara, California, he grew up in a loving, vibrant community that shaped his early life and values in Campbell where he continued to call home for the remainder of his life.

David’s educational journey began at St. Lucy School in Campbell, California, and continued at Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose. He then attended DeAnza and graduated from California State University, Fresno, where he honed his skills and prepared for a successful career.

After years of dating, David married Shannon in Summer 1996 and they shared 15 years together with their dog boys, Woody, Jack and Maverick. They separated in 2011. He spent the last 13 years of his life with his partner, Lisa Ceglia.

Professionally, David was dedicated to the field of Marketing and Sales, where he excelled in various positions across multiple companies. His knack for connecting with people and understanding market dynamics made him a respected figure in his field.

Outside of work, David was passionate about soccer, golf, and cooking. These hobbies not only provided him with immense joy but also allowed him to form lasting friendships and share memorable experiences with others. David was a dedicated and loyal person, not only to his family and friends, but particularly to the Miami Dolphins football team. His love for the dolphins¬ began when he was a toddler and was influenced specifically by his Johnson Florida family. He remained faithful to the Dolphins even through their tough years. Everyone knew his true allegiance to the team because he was almost always wearing something with the Miami Dolphins logo and colors. David loved showering people with gifts (usually related to the Miami Dolphins, cooking, and logical tools that would help keep those he loved safe) often in hopes they would join him in his passions.

David always tried to see the good in people, no matter who they were or what their journey. David’s warm smile, enthusiasm for life, and unwavering kindness and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been part of his life.

In addition to his parents, Betty Anne and Jerri Johnson, David is survived by siblings Michael Johnson, Colleen Johnson, Nephew Aidan Johnson, and his long-term partner Lisa Ceglia. A small funeral service for family and close friends will be held at Darling & Fischer Campbell. There will be a live stream of the service for those who would like to attend; https://www.viewlogies.net/darling-fischer/rQ8u7smSq?pin=183471
