Bobbie Jean Sweet Obituary

On October 10, 1945 a radiant soul was welcomed into the world as Bobbie Jean, the third child of Clifton and Elizabeth McCullough was born. Baptized in the tender embrace of Bethel Baptist Church under the wise guidance of Rev. W. Dowe, Bobbie’s journey of faith began with the purity of her first steps.

Her Academic voyage commenced in the quiet grace of Crockett, where she concluded her studies with distinction from Ralph J. Bunche High School in 1963, later advancing her education in Tyler, Texas. On August 6, 1966, she embarked ion a lifelong journey with Jonny Sweet, a union forged in love and blessed with two beautiful children.

Bobbie’s professional path waved through Dallas and Navasota, but it was in Crockett where her heart truly found its home. As the manager of Prince Hall Manor Apartments, she nurtured her community with dedication. Her service extended to the classrooms of Crockett Independent School District, and for over three decades, she graced the halls of Allied First National Bank in Crockett, ascending to the esteemed position of Vice President.

A woman of exceptional strength and grace, Bobbie was a beacon in her family and community. Her life was a testament to unwavering dedication and kindness, a spirit that touched all who crossed her path. Her efforts, whether at home or in her professional sphere, were imbued with a gentle smile and a compassionate heart, uplifting those around her.

On August 7, 2024, Bobbie Peacefully entered eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Clifton and Elizabeth McCullough, and her beloved siblings: James, Clyde John Elliott, Detroit Sr., Elgin, Corrie Bell, Elizabeth, Marie, and niece Gloria Riley.

Her memory is cherished by her devoted husband, Johnny Sweet: her sister, Shirley “Sue” (Elmer) Murray; her children, Rennard (Twanda) Sweet and Deirdre (Kendric) Taylor; her grandchildren, Kimberly Sweet, Alexandria Sweet, J’Mariaun Taylor, Ke-Aundrea Taylor, Shatara Fogle, and Dominick Fogle;  her great-grandchildren, K’Dyn Sweet, Ayden Sweet, Sage Parish, Nala Rose Caldwell, Dylan Fogle, Naomi Fogle, Racino Fogle, Kyrie Fogle, Korian Fogle, and Trace Fogle; her Sister -in-Law, Rosemary McCullough; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
