Mr. Bobby Campbell, born on December 14, 1944, in Darlington County, South Carolina, to the late Guy Campbell Sr. and Ethel Bull, peacefully transitioned from this life on August 12, 2024. Bobby was raised in a god-fearing home, where he was nurtured in faith and values. He attended services weekly at Kay Branch Missionary Baptist Church, where his spiritual foundation was firmly laid.
A proud graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1965, Bobby entered the workforce immediately after graduation, dedicating himself to industrial work. His journey led him to Philadelphia, where he spent many years working at the Philadelphia steel plant. Later in life, he returned to Hartsville, SC, where he dedicated over 20 years of service at IMC in Hartsville.
Bobby was a man of few words but held a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. Whether riding his bike, painting, or relaxing in front of the television, he found comfort in these activities. His love for nature was evident in his fondness for fishing and hunting, pastimes that brought him peace and joy. An avid football fan, Bobby was known to be jovial, bringing lightheartedness to those around him. He was also known for his impeccable style, often dressing in sharp suits, even with no particular place to go.
Preceding Bobby in death, in addition to his parents, were his siblings Willie James Campbell and Susie Thompson.
Bobby leaves to cherish his memories his beloved children: Curtis Mitchell of Hartsville, SC, and Michelle Campbell of Philadelphia, PA; his siblings: Rev. Dr. Guy (Dorothy) Campbell, Ethelene C. Edwards, and Christine T. Dickson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other close relatives, and friends who will forever remember his quiet strength, his love for life, and the warmth of his presence.
May he rest in eternal peace.
