John W. Barrett, age 88, of Carson City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Schnepp Senior Care & Rehab Center, St. Louis.

John was born April 21, 1936, in Carson City, the son of Norton and Theone (Johnson) Barrett. He married the love of his life, Jean Teremi, on March 31, 1978. John was a man of many interests, enjoying hunting, fishing, football and baseball. Most of all, he enjoyed time with his large and growing family.

Left to cherish John’s memory are his wife of 46 years, Jean; children: Rodney (Kathy), Randy (Shelli), Larry (Diane) Marty, Tony, Bradford, Kathy (Dan) Garza, Pamela, Jeanne (Charlie Miller and Amy; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister Faye (John) Ralph; and brother Tim Barrett.

John is preceded in death by his parents; sons John Walter Barrett Jr. and Thomas Barret; brothers Carl, Danny, Joe, Bill, Tom, Jim, Mike, and Father Pat; and sisters Peggy Wilson and Mary Franklin.

Per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City.
