Mary Lou Harden Obituary

Mary Lou Harden, affectionately known as MayLou by her loved ones, passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 10, 2024, in Taylor, Michigan. Born on April1, 1944, in Marianna, Arkansas, to the late Jennie B. Martin and Lonnie Harden, she was a beacon of kindness and wittiness throughout her eighty years of life.

MayLou grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. Although she was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lillie, and brother Robert Lee, her spirit is carried on by her siblings; Michael (Pastoe Rachelle), Carolyn, Leola, Alfred, Erwin, Wanda, Sherry (Michael Waters), and Loretta (whom affectionately called Love). Her legacy continues to shine brightly through her cherished daughter Rita (Marcus) and grandchildren----Isis, Terrence, Kenna, Marcus II, (known as Tookie), Taliya, Marque, Marquez, Marquel, and Taylor as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.

MayLou's life was one of simple pleasures. She shared a special bond with her mother, and some of her fondest memories were of days spent fishing and driving around with her. She also loved to listen to AL Gree and drink pop. Those who grew to know her will remember Maylo's kind heart and sweet spirit that was contagious.

The family takes comfort in knowing that MayLou is now reunited with her beloved parents, sister, brother, grandparents Lucille Ren and Rev. Henry Farmer, aunts Redell and Margaret, Uncle L.C., nieces Siva, Robin, Tierie, Tina Redell, nephews Daniel, Alfred Jr., Mack (Doug), great-nephew Pirelle, cousins: Linda and Marcus. Her stories, laughter, and love of life will echo in the hearts of those who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed.

As the sun sets on the life of a beloved woman, we celebrate the legacy that MayLou leaves behind---a legacy of love, compassion, and the gentle strength that defined her. In honoring MayLo's memory, we are reminded of the impact one life can have on so many. MayLou's story is not just one of the years she lived but of the countless moments of joy and wit she shared.

As we say farewell to MayLou, we take solace in the fact that her journey was a full on, rich with experiences and surrounded by those who loved her. She has left this world a better place, and for that we are eternally grateful. her family will hold her in their hearts until they can once again hold her in their arms.

Rest in peace, dear MayLou; your light will continue to shine in lives of all who knew you.

We Love You. Gone But Never Forgotten.
