Lucille A. Douglass died July 29th, 2024, in New Haven, CT. Lucie was born May 3rd, 1943, daughter of the late Virginia Mount Douglass and David Arthur Douglass of Unionville, CT. She made her home in Branford for many years.
She leaves her daughter, Holly Hong Ran Douglass, her son, David Christopher Douglass, and granddaughter, Gia Douglass.
Lucie will be greatly missed by her sister, Virginia D. “Ginger” Mountjoy and her brother-in-law, Philip D. Allmendinger of Farmington, CT, her niece, Cary R. Mountjoy (Phil Heim) of Reston, VA, and her nephew, Trevor Mountjoy (Amy) of Carbondale, CO, as well as many beloved cousins.
Lucie graduated from Farmington High School and Georgetown University, and later earned a master’s degree from Wesleyan University. From the early days of computer technology, Lucie had a long career with SNETCo and AT&T, later with Centerbrook Architects and Roz Cama Design.
Lucie enjoyed travel, reading, opera, music, museums, theater, and New York City.
In her last years, through struggles with Alzheimer’s and Primary Progressive Aphasia, Lucie was comforted by family and her kind, caring and devoted friends Lorraine Doyle, Susan Carpenter, Kristen Clyne-Hamitouche, and Peg Reduker.
Many thanks also to the compassionate caregivers at Mary Wade Home in New Haven and Connecticut Hospice in Branford for their loving kindness.
Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville, on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00am followed by Words of Remembrance at 11:00am in the funeral home.
