Florence – Bud LaRocque, 71 passed away Monday, July 29th, 2024 at his residence in Florence, MT. He was born April 16th, 1953 in Chicago, IL to Maynard and Violet LaRocque. Bud went to High School in West Virginia, moved to North Dakota, and then to Missoula, MT in the 70s.
Bud worked as a finish carpenter before becoming the lot manager at 93 Chrysler. In the early 80’s, Bud began his career in auto glass. He managed Safelite Auto Glass before accepting an offer to manage Capital Glass which became Speedy Auto Glass in Missoula. In the mid 90’s, Bud and his business partner Bob opened Crystal Clear Auto Glass where they would serve Missoula for years. Along the way, Bud picked up the trade of tinting auto, commercial and residential windows which he would go on to master over the course of 40 years. He took so much pride in his work and strived for perfection. He was one of the hardest workers you could ever meet.
Bud had such a warm heart and kind soul. He loved his wife Lan LaRocque very much. They were married in September of 1979. Bud was a family man who always provided what his family needed. Food on the table, helping hand, advice, anything. He was passionate, optimistic, generous and caring.
Bud loved being outdoors, he would go hunting or fishing any time he could. Bass fishing became one of his favorite pastimes. He loved to bring home fish to put in the smoker, make elk jerky, stew and anything else he could whip up in the kitchen. He had a soft spot in his heart for dogs and horses. He and Lan raised and looked after many. Bud loved to draw and would often incorporate his artistic talent into his custom automotive window tinting. He was a very creative person and would always blend his craftsmanship and artistic ability to create a masterpiece no matter what he was working on.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents Maynard and Violet LaRocque, his brothers Tim and John LaRocque, his sisters JoAnn Hamrick and Mary Henderson, his sister-in-law Georgette Moses Dosch.
Bud is survived by his wife Lan LaRocque; two sons Jesse and wife Janet LaRocque, Joseph Shull; daughter LiAnne Mourreale and husband Michael; Grandkids Parker & Calea LaRocque, Luke, Ethan and Elle Mourreale. Also, his brothers Fred and wife Rosita, Tom and Henry LaRocque, and his sister Emma Rudge; sister-in-law Donna Moses and brother-in-law Lee Dosch. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who he loved very much.
Bud has left a lasting impression on so many people. He will be missed dearly. His wishes were to have his ashes scattered among his favorite hunting and fishing spots and to forego any services.
Rest in Peace Bud.
