ARNAUDVILLE ~ Funeral services will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Ted Anthony Colon, age 62, who passed away Monday, August 5, 2024 at Calcutta House in Lafayette.

Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Kyle White, pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Readers will be Loryn Colon and Gerard Sigue, MD. Giftbearers will be Kyla Graham, Oliver Pearson and Chandler Pearson.

Mr. Colon was a native and lifelong resident of Arnaudville. A veteran of the military, he proudly served his country in the United States Army and upon discharge, he worked as an Engineer in the oilfield for many years, in various countries including Spain, Venezuela, and Africa.

Ted was a kind, loving father, grandfather, and friend. He was loved by all. He was known for his zest for life, hard work ethic, and comical personality. He loved his family, sweets, video poker, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed fishing, crawfishing and hunting. His grandchildren were his entire world, and he proudly wore his title as Dad and Pop-Pop.

Survivors include his children, Megan Rene Colon of Arnaudville, Chelsie Pearson and her husband, Edward “Mike”, of Broussard, Ted Anthony Colon, Jr. and his wife, Demi, of Broussard, and Loryn "Babygirl" Colon of Broussard; his former wife and mother of his children, Candice LaGrange Sigue and her husband, Gerard Sigue, MD, of Broussard; three grandchildren, Kyla Graham, Oliver Pearson, and Chandler Pearson; two brothers, Kenneth “Chief” Colon of Opelousas and Glenn Colon of Cecilia; and his Godchildren, Tyler Colon and Brock Hebert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenry and Shirley Colon; one brother, Carlis Colon; three sisters, Bonnie C. Dupre, Vickie C. Vincent, and Cheryl Colon; and his nephew, Louis "T-Louis" Darby.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Ted Colon, Jr., Mike Pearson, Tyler Colon, Rylan Colon, Landon Lormand, and Lance Moran. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Colon, Kenneth Colon, Neil Robin, and Gerard Sigue, MD.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of Hospice of Acadiana and Calcutta House for their excellent care and compassion.
