Anthony Michael Disalvio Obituary

Anthony M. "Tony" Disalvio, 69, of Sandusky, passed away suddenly late Sunday afternoon, August 4, 2024 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.

Tony was born on February 11, 1955 in Sandusky, Ohio, son of the late Michele A. "Mike" and Elizabeth M. "Betty" (LaRose) Disalvio.  After graduating from Perkins High School in 1973, he then earned a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies from Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio in 1977.  Always a hard worker, Tony had several jobs during his lifetime, starting as a paperboy for the Sandusky Register, a host at Cedar Villa restaurant and as a police officer for Cedar Point, to name just a few.

Tony moved to Chicago in the late 70's where he worked at various hospitals in security. Always his passion, he was very active in the Catholic Church where he both worked and volunteered his time in all manners of church services.  Tony was especially fond of decorating the various parishes for the holidays and became well-known and in-demand for these services throughout his life in Chicago.

Outgoing and gregarious, Tony made friends easily with a wonderful laugh and a desire to help others. Always an entertaining host and great cook, he would open his home and share dishes with family and friends alike, often on an elaborately decorated table setting. Many joyful and memorable Christmas Eve meals were made possible by Tony's hard work and dedication for the enjoyment of everyone.

Tony made his way back to Sandusky in 2020, where he spent his days quietly enjoying retirement and relaxing "in the country" as he put it. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. May God's everlasting light always shine upon thee.

Tony is survived by his partner, Michael Rogers; brothers, Leonard (Rita) and Michel (Valerie) Disalvio; nieces, Michelle Disalvio, Shannan Thorpe, Maria Disalvio, Christa, Daniel and Kelly Stobie; as well as several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the David F Koch Funeral & Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 AM Monday morning, Aug 12th at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial taking place at 10:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave, Sandusky.  Fr.
