Mrs. Yolande Celeste Fisher Obituary

Yolande Celeste Stalks Fisher was born on October 7, 1957, to the late Curtis Arthur and Rosalyn Celeste Stalks, in East Orange, New Jersey. She entered into eternal rest on August 4, 2024.

Yolande, affectionately known as “Landa, Lonnie, Bae, Mommy & Nanny,” dedicated her life to her family. She was the glue that held everyone together. Her family was her pride and joy and she worked tirelessly to better the lives of them all. Yolande was educated at St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Clifford J. Scott High School in New Jersey, where she was known for her beautiful smile, wisdom, confidence and sophistication. Yolande came from a lineage of public servants, politicians and business owners. She was also the proud niece of the Late Honorable Larrie West Stalks, Register of Deeds, Essex County, New Jersey. After losing her mother, she relocated to Columbia, South Carolina with her husband and three children. Her brother and sister later joined and she raised them alongside her children. Yolande was an Administrative Assistant for several years before leaving the workforce to care for several of her grandchildren, nieces and nephew. Yolande furthered her education at Midlands Technical College and Limestone University, Majoring in Criminal Justice. She returned to the workforce as Cashier at BCBS and later a Cook at Forest Acres Post Acute, where she retired. In her spare time, she loved reading, watching court tv shows, sharing a family story & spending time with her family.

Yolande was a petite woman, but she was a force, who exemplified, strength, courage, perseverance and resilience. Her words were few, but always wise. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister & friend. She was a helper, always extending her hands, resources and time to pull someone up, whether it was her family or friends. Her wisdom and concern touched the lives of so many.

Yolande leaves to cherish her memory: her loving  husband of 46 years, Ashley (Lee) Fisher; three children, a daughter, Patrice Celeste Roberts (Jason); two sons, Ashley “Ponchie” Byron Fisher (Tangela) and Aaron Bruce Fisher; brother, Corey Lance Stalks; sister, Cherie Kathryn Mia Stalks Watson; twenty-two grandchildren, Kei’Voghn, Kei’Yona, Darren, Imani, Nehemiah, Trinity, Ashley, Mariah, Blaike, Blaire, Coby, Cori, Ciana, Jaeda, Ani, Zoe, Paris, Aaron Jr., Elijah, Olivia, Isabella and Alexandria; two great grandchildren, Anila and Akyla; eight nieces and nephews, Endiya, Samauri, Coriyoghn, Salimah, Aminah, Stephon Jr., Megan, and Hannah-Patrice; one great niece, Kaylei; and a host of loving relatives & friends.
