Stephen Lee Calhoun Obituary

Stephen Lee Calhoun was born in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1954 to Colleen Calhoun.

He attended Meridian Schools, graduating from Meridian High School in 1972. After graduating, he went to work for Swiss Village Cheese Factory where he was trained in the art of cheese making. This is where he met Rita Calhoun for the first time. They dated for a while then were married in 1974.

They loved the Meridian area and decided that is where they wanted to buy a home. This is the home where they lived when all five of their children were born. The family moved from Meridian to Nampa in 1992 after purchasing a small acreage from Rita’s parents.

After retiring, Steve discovered his passion for singing karaoke. He moved around from place to place and met many new and wonderful people doing this.

Steve was preceded in death by his Grandparents Lyle and Irene Clay, his parents John and Colleen Calhoun, and his and Rita’s still born twin daughters. He is survived by his family members; Rita Calhoun, his eldest son Craig Calhoun, Jazmin Eguia and their sons Jakin, Elliott, and Dominic, his middle son Clifford Calhoun and his wife Kati Calhoun and their daughters Londyn and Sydney, and his youngest son Nickolas Calhoun and his fiancée Alaina Mayfield. Lastly, he has one younger brother Phil that lives in Boise with his wife Linda.

A celebration of life will be held at the Caldwell Elks Lodge on Saturday August 10th at 11 am. Flowers can be sent to the Caldwell Elks Lodge or donations can be made in Stephen’s name to the national non-profit Feeding the Hungry.
