Christopher Wydel Carroll, Sr., 57 of Lexington Park, MD, passed away at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown, MD on August 04, 2024. He was the youngest of eight children, born on July 15, 1967 to the late John Francis, Sr. and Annie Cecelia Carroll.
Christopher was affectionately known as “Flap” or “Chrissy” to family and friends. He received his education from the St. Mary’s County Public School System, graduating from Great Mills High School in 1985. After graduating from high school, he obtained his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to become a truck driver. He worked as a dump truck driver for various companies for many years, most recently for Danville Hauling Company.
Chris was kind, caring, and had a heart of gold. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. His generous heart and sociable personality touched the lives of many who knew him. He was a great softball player who spent several years playing on the "St. James Angels" softball team with family and friends. He enjoyed socializing with family and friends, attending family gatherings and watching sports; he was a true die-hard Washington Commanders fan.
Chris leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted son, Christopher Wydel Carroll, Jr. (Teayrus); 4 grandchildren, Kyree, Teneal, Christopher, and Zari’ona; 4 siblings, David, Martin, Joan (Ronnie), and Maurice; 6 nephews, David, Donyell, Jawaan, DeWayne, Joshua, and Kevin; 1 aunt, Sarah Chase; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Francis Carroll, Jr. and Jeffrey Owen Carroll; sister, Joyce Ann Carroll; two nephews, John Francis Carroll III and Jeffrey Carroll (fraternal twin of nephew, Joshua Carroll); and sister-in-law, Vickie Lynn Carroll.
Serving as Pallbearers: David Carroll, Martin Carroll, Maurice Carroll, Joseph Carroll, Michael Chase, and Philip Fenwick.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in St. Cecilia Catholic Church Lexington Park, MD. Where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
