David Cright "Smurf " Obituary

David Cright (Smurf) was born to his mother Marion Cright at St. Mary’s hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He was a 7lb 5 oz chubby and happy baby. David younger years he grew up in ocean hills Brownsville between Fulton and rock away where he attended P.S 155 elementary school followed by P.S 215 Jr. High School.

Shortly after that at the age of 15 years old Anthony Coleman (straw) his father gain custody of him and raised him in Albany, NY where he end up meeting crystal in 1999 who spent 20 plus years with him. in  2008 crystal & David had their first child together David Cright,  Jr. & in 2010 they had their second child together Neveah Cright.

It was over the years Davis expressed different characteristics that made us all love and remember him for it like his favorite phrases Tiger woods or Fried rice or how he always calling cabs with the phrase saying “Duffy Getem Outta here” he was always so funny cracking jokes &he always made a nickname for everyone. He had funny dances & let’s not forget how much he hated anyone walking barefooted, not to mention how much he loved to save the light bill. You could be sitting in the room and he would just come in and turn off all the lights telling you to use the good old sun beaming from the window and it would be dark outside.

David had many great passions especially cleaning he was ocd with keeping everything clean and free from clutter if you didn’t use it you didn’t need it he would tell you after throwing it away. David was a man that wore many hats he loved cooking in which he got from his father (Straw) & he loved making his own creations. He loved playing dives and playing spades he even loved what we would call fake rapping..

He forever kept us laughing another one of his great passion was his work he did construction for many years, and loved doing it anyone who bumped into. Smurf forever seen him in his work attire he either was working  on a lunch break or just getting out of work but for the most part he loved being home with his family and kids. In whenever he wanted to free his mind you could always catch him on the road driving for hours. anyone who knew Smurf loved him because he was genuine with everything he did.

Smuef departs from us he leaves behind his mother Marion Cright he sister Talenia his two brothers Travis and Terrell. His sons David Cright, Jr. Jasiah and Kari, his daughter Neveah Cright his mother in law Evelyn Torres and extended in-laws the longtimer family & let’s not forget G-block his downtown family where he grew up at..it is with a heavy heart we all say goodbye.

To a very special person in all of our lives  we are all stories and remembered by the adventures we had the achievements we made and the people we loved . the stars in the sky perhaps they are not stars but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pour through and shine down upon us to let’s us know that they are happy thought his time with us was brief the depth of love and happiness he shared will remain in our hearts forever this is not goodbye but see you later we love you
