Betty McGhee Rice age 73 of Sturgis, KY passed away Sunday, August 4th, 2024 at her residence in Sturgis, KY. Betty was born August 10, 1950 in Shawneetown, IL to the late Henry and Velma McGhee. Betty was an avid bingo player, crocheter, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Velma McGhee, husband Sam Rice, brothers Paul Lewis, Bobby Batteese, and sisters Donna Barton & Marilyn VanHooser

Betty is survived by her daughter Lisa (Steve) Freeman of Sturgis, KY.

Funeral Service will be 1PM Thursday, August 8th, 2024 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis. Rev. Troy Black will officiate.

Visitation will be 11AM until service time at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Betty Rice Memorial Fund at Whitsell Funeral Home.
