Juanita “Janie” Zambada, 67, of Angleton passed away on July 31, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Janie was born on December 23, 1956, in Angleton to Salomon and Alicia (Villanueva) Zambada.


Janie enjoyed walks on the beach, especially before a storm. Enjoyed traveling around visiting different places, eating food, and meeting new people. Her most favorite activities were spending time with God and with her grand and great grandchildren.


Those that preceded her in death include her father Salomon Zambada, Niece Maya Rivera and Great Nephew Ray Shawn Jr “Baby Ray”


Left to treasure her memory are her children: Antonio Rubio and wife Maria and Antonia Rubio; her mother Alicia Zambada, siblings: Arturo Zambada and wife Dora, Captain Jose Salomon and wife Barbara, Alfredo Zambada and wife JoAnne, and Frances Zambada Rivera; her grandchildren: Alexia, Alexandria “Sister” and Alia Cerda, Aidan and Alanea Rubio, Gabriella, Alycia and Eric Rubio; her Great-Grandchildren: Selena Manzano, Allison Moore, Aleksandr Cerda, Raizo Vargas and Ameliana Cerda.

Her Christianity and Faith in God were everything to her. She spread not only the Word of God, but His love as well to everyone around her. She impacted many lives by her faith and touched many hearts. She shall always be remembered for her dedication, faith, and love to Our Lord and Savior.


Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Palms Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Angleton Cemetery.
