Dean Alan Barber Obituary

Dean Alan Barber, age 63, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, with family members by his side.  He was a loving husband, father and affectionally known as “Pa”.

Dean was born in Bangor, Maine on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1961, to Jasper Earl Barber and the late Mary Jane Rodgers Barber, of Goldsboro, NC.

He loved showing off his cooking skills to family and friends.  But he especially treasured the times he spent with his family, watching his grandson grow up and fishing on the Roanoke River with his brother.

Dean was fond of saying, “find something you love to do, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”  That’s exactly how he felt about his work and coworkers in his 20+ years at Buhler Aeroglide in Cary, NC.

In addition to his father, Dean is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sheila Barber; daughter, Kelly Barber of Narrows, VA; son, Bryan “Chad” Barber (Julia) of Wilmington, NC; grandson, Kayne Edwards; and brother, Larry Barber (Mary Ida) of Goldsboro.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 2pm, at Triangle Christian Center, Fellowship Drive, Raleigh, NC.

Condolences may be sent to www.coxmemorialfuneralhome.com.
