OPELOUSAS ~ Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 at an 11:00 a.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Joseph James Gallien, age 54, who passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 at his residence in Opelousas.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Wilton and Theresa Gallien; two sisters, Theresa Gallien and Mary Gallien; four brothers, Wilton Gallien, Jr. (Irma Jene Gallien), Donald Gallien, Clovis Gallien, and Kevin Gallien (Christal Gallien); four nieces, Elizabeth, Shivley, Hayley, and Keyara; four nephews, Clovis Jr., Cameron, Kevin Jr., and Deshon; his Godchildren, Tierra, Rachel, Kevin Jr., Damian Jr., and Darian; nine great nieces and nephews; and a host of aunts and uncles.

Joseph was welcomed into Heaven by his maternal grandparents, Clovis Bossier, Sr. and Elouise Bossier; his paternal grandparents, Claude Gallien and Bertha Gallien; his aunts, Dorothy Lewis and Judy Dural; and his uncles, Clovis Bossier, Jr., Roger Bossier, Joseph Bossier, Sr., Shelton Bossier, Willie Gallien, Donald Gallien, and Jim Gallien.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

The family requests visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. Thursday until service time on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Gallien, Sr., Clovis Gallien, Jr., Joseph Bossier, Jr., Roger Bossier, Jr., Benjamin Bossier, and Milton Bossier. Honorary pallbearers will be Wilton Gallien, Jr., Clovis Gallien, Sr., Wilton Bossier, Jr., Damian Rubin, Sr., and John Nordstrom, Sr.
