Jess R. Poindexter, age 77, of Carthage passed away on August 1st, 2024 at his home.

Jess was born on July 26th, 1947 in Carthage, MO, the son of the late Victor “Vic” and Jewel (Wiley) Poindexter. He worked at W.R. Grace for nearly twenty years and then he went to work for Modine as a welder prior to his retirement.

He married his late wife, Cheryl Sterling, on September 18th, 1964 in Carterville, MO.

He is survived by one son, Dell Poindexter and his wife Jill of Carthage, MO, one brother, Wayne Poindexter, three grandchildren, Amber Wilson (Poindexter), Jessie Poindexter, Sheyanna Powell (Poindexter), and three great-grandchildren, Keara Knight, Brailee Jarrett, Kaisen Jarrett.
