Richard Anthony Anderes Obituary

Richard Anthony Anderes, age 64 of Hope, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Memorial Health System in Abilene.


He was born on December 22, 1959, in Abilene, the son of Edwin Paul and Jennie Ruth (Rediker) Anderes. He graduated from Chapman High School.


Richard was a sports fan and loved the Oakland Raiders. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races and following his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt and later Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He was a talented artist, drawing pictures free hand and building many model cars. Watching, reading, and learning about cars and trucks were a passion of his.


He is survived one brother, Bob Anderes and wife Patti of Hope; one sister, Joyce Elburn of Abilene; six nieces and nephews, Jeff Anderes (Diane Pickering), Jennifer Dockins (Eric), Lori Hunter (Sam), Robert Falconio (Tara), Jarred Anderes (Jenny), and Nathan Anderes (Tracy), and ten great nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gene Anderes.


Parish Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene. The family will receive friends following the Rosary until 8:00 p.m.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the St. Columba Catholic Church in Elmo. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, south of Elmo.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Columba Catholic Church or Memorial Health Foundation. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 176, Riley, Kansas 66531 or the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
