ARNAUDVILLE ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Calvin J. Begnaud, age 89, who passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Courtyard Manor in Lafayette.

Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Travis Abadie, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Debbie Leblanc, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs will be How Great Thou Art, and Amazing Grace. Readers will be Charlene Taylor and Lexi Dupuis.

Calvin was a native and lifelong resident of Arnaudville where he was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis in Arnaudville. Calvin was a dredge boat engineer for over twenty years, supervisor for St. Landry Road district for over three years, then spent the next seventeen years at Teche Vermillion pumping station. Calvin made significant contributions to his community through his work and involvement with the Knights of Columbus Post #3621 and was a third-degree knight.

Survivors include one son, Stacey Begnaud and his companion, Marcee Dupre; two daughters, Jennifer B. Mouisset and her husband, Martin, and Wendy B. Dupuis; one brother, Carol Begnaud and his wife, Nell; one sister, Theresa B, Rockhold; her sister-in-law, Hilda Lanclos Begnaud; five grandchildren, Spencer Begnaud and his wife, Alyse, Martine Mouisset, Travis Mouisset and his wife, Lindsey, Lexi Dupuis and Yancy Dupuis; six great grandchildren, Kaylee Norris, Holden Mouisset, Holden Begnaud, Emersyn Begnaud, Decklin Mouisset, and Truett Begnaud.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Shirley Dugas Begnaud; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Begnaud, mother the former Lula Steaks; and two brothers, Clarence Begnaud and Henry Begnaud.

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.

The family would like to thank Courtyard Manor and Bridgeway Hospice for their exceptional care of Mr. Begnaud. 

Pallbearers will be Travis Mouisset, Spencer Begnaud, Yancy Dupuis, Stacey Begnaud, Floyd Pelafigue, and Carroll Begnaud, Jr.
