Sandra Gayle Hinshaw “Cutie” Ellis, age 82 of Huntsville, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. She was born in Huntland on April 5, 1942, to the late John Anderson and Nina (Eslick) Hinshaw. A devoted homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, decorating, and making flower arrangements, and was known to be the best at placing shelf paper by her close family and friends. Gayle and her husband, Richard “Dick”, enjoyed traveling around the country in their RV. She was a devoted member of Southside Baptist Church in Huntsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ellis; and son, Keith Bass. Gayle is survived by her siblings, Don Hinshaw, Janice (Glenn) Grant, Rick (Barbara) Hinshaw, and Carol (Chris) Carr; special niece, Ivy Bailey; and nieces and nephews, Ben Greene, Camille Moore, Kevin Hinshaw, Benji Greene, Shannon Hinshaw, Tiffany Arhin, Courtney Frasier, Holly Hall, Lily Barnes, and Nix Hall. Visitation will be from 1-3pm on Monday, August 5, 2024, in the Life Celebration Center at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Joe Bailey officiating.
