Marie Lail Wike, age 92, passed from death unto life on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Marie had been in declining health for three years.

Marie was born October 31, 1931 in Alexander County, she was the only child of the late Ed and Anne E. White.

            The majority of her working years were in the furniture industry. She supplemented her income by working for several years at Burger Basket restaurant. Marie was of the Baptist faith.

            Including her parents, Marie was preceded in death by: her first husband and father of her children, Jimmie L. Lail; her second husband, Richard Wike; her daughters, Penny Marie Lail, Katherine Anne Julian and husband, Kevin Julian.

            Those left to cherish her memory include: her son, Timothy A. Lail of Taylorsville; her daughter, Susan A. Bowman of Taylorsville; her five grandchildren, Jennifer Lail, Kyra Austin, Jeremy Austin, Nick Julian (Jacqueline) all of Taylorsville, James R. Lail (Amber) of Troutman; her six great-grandchildren, Jayden Robinette, Kylar Austin, Kassidy Keller, Anderson and Hudson Julian, Jackson Lail.

            A Graveside Service will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2024 in the Taylorsville City Cemetery. Pastor Stephen Dagenhart and Pastor Jason Payne will officiate.

            The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. prior to the graveside service.

            The family would like to thank the staff at the Taylorsville House and Iredell County Hospice for the kind and compassionate care during our mother’s illness.
