Johnathan “Johnny” Scott Harness, 21, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 29, 2024.
He was born on April 26, 2003, in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Johnny was a mostly self-taught musician, a talent that he excelled in. He loved motorcycles and performing his over-the-top flips to entertain, and sometimes worry, his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Johnny was fearless and was the most loving person to family and friends alike. His huge heart and caring nature made him a stranger to none, and he was always willing to help others. He was a friend to all and loved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tommy Thompson; grandmother, Tammy Jarrett; great-grandparents, Butch and Karen Vogel; and great-grandmother, Francis Cooper.
Survivors include his loving parents, Kandice and Jeffrey Vannaman; siblings, Sarah Vannaman and Tommy Harness; uncles, Scott Hall, William Vannaman, Austin Vogel, Nohl Vogel, Shannon Jarrett, and Travis Jarrett; aunt, Amithyst Vogel; cousins, Max, Shanna, Christian, Camryn, Caden, Lyrikah, Reece, Zayden, Mikey, and Destiny; nephew, Jasper; grandparents, Judy Thompson, Eldon Vogel, Charity Vogel, Jeffrey Vannaman, and Linda Vannaman; great-grandmother, Myrtle Campbell; and many extended relatives and friends who he considered family that will continue to cherish their memories of Johnny.
The family will gather with friends 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 8, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Memories shared at 6:00 P.M.
