Williamsville, NY - Michael Carrano passed away on July 30, 2024 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Michael, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, leaves behind a legacy of loyalty and dedication that will be remembered by all who knew him. Born and raised in the Bellevue section of Schenectady, New York, Michael was a standout football player at Bishop Gibbons High School. It was during high school when he met his high school sweetheart, Annetta Carrano, and together they embarked on a lifelong journey together. He then attended St. Michael's College in Vermont for his undergraduate studies, followed by Union College for his graduate degree. Michael spent his entire career as a teacher in the South Colonie school district, where he became a mentor and inspiration to many students. His unique blend of humor, discipline, and knowledge left a lasting impact on countless young minds. After retiring, he and Annetta moved to the Buffalo area to be closer to their son, Patrick. Michael found joy in golfing, watching Notre Dame football, going to the Saratoga Race Track and spending cherished time with his beloved grandson, Carson. He had an unwavering commitment to those he cared for. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Annetta; his devoted son, Patrick; and his cherished grandson, Carson. His memory will forever be a part of their lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Services will be private and his remains will be buried in Schenectady at a future date.
