Mary L. Smith (nee Olszewski)

Born to life on August 9, 1937, in Ft. Sheridan, Illinois, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (nee Molnar), Mary was born to eternal life surrounded by loving family on July 28, 2024, at Serenity Villa IV in Slinger, Wisconsin, where she lived for the past two and a half years. She is now reunited with her beloved and devoted husband Robert M. Smith, whom she missed dearly since his death in 2016. Mary spent most of her childhood in Milwaukee, moving to Waukesha to raise her family.  She and Bob retired in Tomahawk where family loved to gather and make memories.  She moved back to the Waukesha area in 2016.

Mary was the loving and cherished mother of Michael (Mary) Smith of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Brian (Linda) Smith of Hartford, Wisconsin, Craig (Kim) Smith of Chanhassen, Minnesota, Frank (Julie) Smith of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and Derek (Olivia) Smith of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was also the proud and adoring granny of Kevin Smith, Keith Smith, Tony (Allie) Smith, Alex (Katie) Moores, Rosalie (Nate) Schmidt, Noelle (Matt) Ehlers and Taylor Smith. Mary is further survived by her sister-in-law Kate Olszewski, great-grandkids Arthur, August, Adrian, Dominic, Lola, Lily, Calvin and Everlynn, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her grandson Colin Moores, and five brothers, John Olszewski, Paul Olszewski, Bobby Olszewski, Michael Olszewski and Thomas Olszewski.

Visitation will be held for Mary on Monday August 12, 2024, from 10am until the time of service at 11:30am, all at Fox River Christian Church, S46W24130 Lawnsdale Road, Waukesha, Wisconsin 53189. Private niche placement Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin, Wisconsin.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Serenity Villa IV for their compassionate and loving care.  Mary loved them and truly felt like Serenity was her home.  Special thank you also to Brighton Hospice who along with Serenity staff kept her comfortable during her last weeks.
