Jerry Benton Kendrick, of brownfield passed away in Lubbock on Sunday, July 28,2024, at the age of 89. He was born in Waco, Texas on August 9, 1934, to James Benton and Mary Ruth (Dameron) Kendrick. Jerry graduated from Loop high school and began working in the oil industry at the age of 17, he retired in his mid 60’s as a Seismographer. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, traveling and even snowmobiling while he was in Wyoming. Jerry was also an avid football fan, cheering on the Baylor Bears every time they played.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Vickie Miranda, Richard Kendrick and wife Melissa, and Kara McQueen and husband Ben; grandchildren, Aaron, Malachi, and Rebbecca; great grandchildren, Lilyanna, Shane, Shylee, Danika, and Joshua; sister, Judy Massingale and husband Michael; sister-in-law, Joyce Kendrick, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter Stephanie Mankin; parents, James and Mary Ruth Kendrick; and brother Jimmy Kendrick.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel, Brownfield. Burial will follow at the Loop Cemetery, Loop, Texas.
