Beverly Diane Wright Obituary

Beverly was born on March 21, 1941 to Cape Verdian parents Emilio and Ruby Oliveira whom they raised in Boston, MA. She later came into adulthood married Isaac Mitchell then then shortly after raised her 3 daughters Cynthia, Cassandra, and Candance Mitchell.

As a single mother. Her family made memorable memories while living in Orchard Park Projects. She was known to many but to those closest and dearest to her heart she was known as Mumma, Bev, Nana, and Nana B. While making a living in Boston. She had a 9to5 job as a data entry key puncher. And she didn’t just stop there she was a hustler at Washington park she sold hotdogs, snacks, and beverages out of trunk of her car. Then she worked her way up and got herself an ice cream truck. Beverly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends but especially her two close friends Leila, and Leaster (proceeded in death) dancing, and talking the night away at VFW Post.

She later moved to Norfork Virginia where she met and married her present but now widowed husband Jerome Wright of 35 years. The two of them loved riding their motorcycles, having fun, creatively inspiring one another and enjoying life together. After her husband retired from the Navy they moved to Jacksonville, FL where they spent most of their marriage. From station wagons, to motorcycles, to vans Beverly loved to be on the go. Throughout all her years she continued to entrepreneurial ship by creating her own brand Uniquely Wright sewing was one of her biggest passions. She made blankets for the newest members of her family, to making wedding and prom dresses, if you needed something taken in or hemmed she was the one to get it done. Beverly even made her own leggings way before they became popular and the one garment that she would be mostly remembered for was the underwear she made! Beverly taught and passed this trade to several members of her family to include reupholstering furniture.

Beverly recently moved to Beaufort SC. Where she spent her last days of 83 year. While transitioning she reached her hand out and called for her mother. Mumma Mumma MUMMA! Whom her mother took her by the hand to guide her into heaven. To receive her wings. She was preceded in death by: Soyvance Dor and Ayden Johnson.

Beverly leaves to cherish her unforgettable memories: her children: Cynthia Michell, Cassandra (Alvin) Gillens and Candance (Dank) Mitchell-Williams; her siblings: Barbara Hillman, Paulette Jacobs, Pamela Oliveira, Thomas Oliveira and Cheryl Oliveira; grandchildren: Walter Mitchell (Melissa Cardoso), Geona Mitchell- Durham, Shaledra Mitchell - Shawanna (Michael) Nicholas Shavaince Frantzy) Dor, Latisha (Scott) Mason), Jamia (Michael) Wells and Jennifer Williams; great grandchildren: Aniah and Angeli Mitchell, Geoni Rice, Gekai and Gekari Durham, J’MyKing Dasia(Emily Garcia), Allahjah and Sunday MeDade ,Nassir Zen Dor, Jahzir Chi Dor and Kavier Jai Dor; great great grandchildren: T’Mir Mitchell, Jaylen Dasia, Mikayla (Jamal) Diaz, Anthony and Jazmine (Dyland) Mason, Michael III, Maxximus, Mya & Major Wells, Sean and Jayquan White; great great great grandchildren: Seriyah and Cairo Mason, Legend Johnson, Layla Johnson, Sky’Lee Bouie and Jerzey Bouie; to include a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also her beloved dog: COCO.
