CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Kenneth “Tiny” David, age 74, who passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Carencro. Deacon David Menard will officiate at the services.

Mr. David was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro having been a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. For forty years he was employed as a welder and later, a Welding Supervisor, primarily working for Smith International and was known as the "Cajun Welder".

Kenneth’s work ethic far exceeded his professional life as he was known for always finding something to work on, always piddling in his shop, and always ready to help anyone in need. He was the most kind and humble person, showing his love to others. He was a man of few words with a heart of gold.

He had great pride in being Paw Paw and loved watching his grandchildren practice the game they love on their family property. A true Cajun at heart, he was a member of the Carencro Trail Riders and loved riding his John Deere tractor blaring KBON! His hardworking hands are now at rest, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who love him most.

Survivors include his devoted wife of fifty-four years, Patricia "Pat" David; one son, Christopher "Chris" Michael David; one daughter, Brandi David Patin (Guy); three grandchildren, Jacque Patin (Alli Kidder), Taylor Patin and Tylor Patin (Brandon Barrett); brother-in-law, Dallas Turner; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Obey Moise David and Anna Lou David Domingue; one brother, Dale Paul David; his paternal grandparents, Moise David and Louise B. David; and maternal grandparents, Sandoz Arceneaux and Anaise Bernard.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and will continue from 7:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Jacque Patin, Dallas Turner, Tylor Patin, Alex Forestier, Jason Bergeron, and Doug Sonnier, II. Honorary pallbearers will be Guy Patin, Taylor Patin, Chris David, Malcolm Breaux, J. Roy Bernard and Charles Breaux.
