Deborah “Debbie” Alane Emmons, 70, of Boonville, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024. She was born on October 27, 1953 in Evansville to Harold “Dick” and Joan (Allen) Anderson.
Debbie was a lifelong resident of Boonville and Warrick County. She was a 1971 graduate of Boonville High School. She then attended the Evansville School of Health Occupations. Upon graduating she was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital as a Surgical Technician. Soon afterward she left for her most important role of taking care of her young family, especially children Jody and Andy. She subsequently served as a teacher aide at Loge School and Boonville Jr. High School for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Dick Anderson; paternal grandparents, Ed and Thelma Anderson and maternal grandparents, Ed and Marie Allen.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 19 years, Roger Emmons; mother, Joan Anderson; daughter, Jody Bender (Dan); son, Andy Emmons; stepsons, Gene Emmons and Jerry Emmons (Chelsea); grandsons, Christian and Conner Bender, and Kwen Emmons; brother, Steve Anderson (Susan); brother-in-law, Dan Emmons (Sheila); sisters-in-law, Kelly Mitchell (Jack) and Kristy Stutsman (Linda); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Koehler Funeral Home, 304 E. Main St., Boonville, IN 47601 with Pastor Rodney Sloan officiating.
Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Debbie lived a joyful life. We all know how her smile could light up a room. She touched all of us with her captivating personality.
