Thomas W. Jacobs Obituary

Thomas Warren Jacobs passed away on July 16, 2024 in an automobile accident while driving
home from work. Tom was born June 6, 1982 in Boise, Idaho and adopted by his parents,
William and Ruth Jacobs who raised him in Grangeville, Idaho. Ever since an early age, Tom
had a love for life and acceleration. He was always pushing limits on snowcats, dirt bikes, and
anything motorized. Tom attended Saint Peters and Paul Catholic School in Grangeville through
8th grade and graduated from Grangeville High School in 2000. Following his graduation, Tom
attended Universal Technical Institute of Phoenix, Arizona and graduated with an Associates
Degree in Auto Mechanics. After graduation he moved back to his hometown and opened his
business, Tom’s Lube and Auto Repair.

Tom joined the Grangeville Fire Department (GFD) in 2005, serving his community for a
number of years until he stepped down as Assistant Chief in 2023. Shortly after joining the GFD
he welcomed his first daughter, Shayla, into the world in 2006. He was a proud dad - molding
him into the man we all knew him to be.

Tom met the love of his life, Tiffany Stamper, while in high school and they spent the following
years chasing each other around before finally becoming official in 2009. The two married in a
beautiful ceremony in 2011. During this time, Tom closed his business and began working at
Anderson Aeromotive as a Radial Airplane Mechanic. Tom and Tiffany continued to grow their
family, welcoming Claire in 2012 and Dixon in 2014.

Tom always had a passion for the outdoors, some of his favorite pastimes included
spending time with his family, hunting, golfing, fishing, jet boating, side-by-side riding, and horn
hunting. In 2019, Tom was blessed with the opportunity to do what he loved most, working on
the river as a jet boat captain.

Tom was a simple man who was grateful for the little things, was extremely loyal, tenacious and
loved his family fiercely. He didn’t know a stranger and anyone who was blessed to have known
him well knew he gave the best hugs. He is gone too soon and will be greatly missed, he was
too great of a guy for just this little space.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Tiffany, children Shayla, Claire, and Dixon. His parents
William and Ruth(Poxleitner) Jacobs and Carla (Russ) Simmons. His siblings Annie (Kirk)
Whitlock, grandparents Josephine Jacobs, Lyle Stamper, and Vicki Morris; nieces and
nephews Brylee, Trentyn, Brian, Blaine, Payton, Ethan, Zoilo, Noah, Alice, Lyka and Nora. His
biological family Cindy, Morgan, Tori and Andrew Patterson. He is preceded in death by his
grandparents Warren Jacobs, Vince and Alma Poxleitner, and father-in-law Kevin Stamper.
