Calvin Darrell Coates, 58, of Marshall passed away, July 29, 2024. He was the son of Kathleen Gosnell Coates and the late Boyd Coates. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Coates and nephew Wesley Coates.

In Calvin’s younger years he enjoyed racing cars and being wild and crazy. However, we know Calvin is at home with Jesus, because he asked Him to be his Lord and Savior in 2022.

In addition to his mother, Calvin is survived by sons, Scott Dillion and Andrew “Andy” Blake Coates; sister, Sheila Coates Chandler; 3 grandchildren, and nephews Landon Rice and Neil Coates.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm prior to the service.
