Edward A. Quinn, III Obituary

Edward A. Quinn, III, loving husband, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on July 28, at the age of 55. Ed was a devoted husband to his college sweetheart, Kimberley Smith, whom he married on June 18, 1994.

Ed is survived by his wife Kimberley, and their sons Devin and Sean, his mother Linda Quinn, and his father Edward Quinn and his wife Alexia, his sister and brother-in-law Kelly and Jeff Cota and their daughters Kaitlyn and Samantha.

Ed was born on December 10, 1968, to Linda and Edward Quinn, and raised in Keene, NH. He graduated from Keene High School in 1987 where he thrived. He was named the Scholar Athlete of his graduating class and earned the Sharby Award for outstanding athletic ability and leadership. He graduated having excelled not only academically but as a star athlete in baseball, wrestling, and football. He played varsity football all four years, co-captained the varsity football team, and was named to the New Hampshire Allstate Football Team. After high school, Ed continued his education at the University of New Hampshire where he majored in electrical engineering and computer science. He remembered fond times with his Alpha Gamma Rho brothers.

He married Kimberley in 1994 and together they raised their two sons in Westford, MA. Family meant everything to Ed. He adored his wife and sons, his parents, his sister and brother-in-law Kelly and Jeff Cota and their two daughters Kaitlyn and Samantha. He also remembers his mother-in-law Elaine Smith and brothers-in-law Rick Smith and Daryl Johnson. He spent many happy hours hosting family parties in both his Westford house and at his Cotuit home where he and Kim started spending their summers. When their sons graduated from high school, they relocated permanently to Cotuit.

Ed was the family gentle giant with a big smile and hug for everyone. He thought the happiest place on earth was in fact DisneyWorld and spent many vacations there. Christmas was his very favorite holiday and nothing made him happier than hearing Christmas carols, decorating the family tree, and planning presents for all of his family. He loved coaching his sons in baseball and football. He felt fortunate to coach many young athletes of all abilities, during his years of volunteer coaching. He was a wonderful man who will never be forgotten by his family and friends.

For the past 33 years, Ed has had a long and successful career in the computer industry. He was a pioneer in understanding the power and future of cloud computing and artificial intelligence, often being asked to introduce and present to major companies and organizations across the country. He joined Coveo, a major Canadian cloud company in 2015 and was currently Coveo’s Principal Consultant in Program Architecture serving as a strategic advisor and product and platform expert providing guidance across all Coveo projects consulting with enterprises across the world.
