Thomas “Tom” David Kinnaird, 83, of Shallowater, Texas entered into eternal rest at his home on Monday, July 29, 2024. Tom was born in Olean, New York on June 1, 1941. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps from December of 1958 until June of 1967, during which time he served two tours in Vietnam. Tom transferred his enlistment to the United States Air Force in 1967 and finished his military career, retiring as a TSGT in February of 1977. He continued his dedication to our country in a civilian personnel position at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico finally retiring in 1988. Tom attended and graduated from NMSU-A with two Bachelor’s Degrees. He was an avid photographer, loved hiking, camping, fishing, reading books, but his biggest love was for his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Daniel Kinnaird of Magnolia, Texas; sister, Mary Saunder of Olean, New York; daughters, Susan Pinson of Shallowater, Texas, and Colleen Doss of Charolette, North Carolina; grandchildren, Shannon Bennett (Bryan) of Tularosa, New Mexico, LyndaKay Pinson of Tularosa, New Mexico; Torey Pinson (Tanicia) of Oceanside, California, Sierra Pinson-Hadfield (Adam) of Tularosa, New Mexico, Shavonne Doss of Arizona, Leslie Dillard (Mendy) of Greenville, South Carolina, Michael Doss, II (Donna) of Florence, South Carolina, and Ashley Doss (Scott) of Charlotte, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Justin Poter, Jr., Evan Bennett; Lillie and Logan Pinson, Osiris and Orion Hadfield, Kensington and Jalyen Dillard, Weston and Payton Doss, Samantha, Emily, and Steven Imer.

Tom was proceeded in death by his parents, Matt Kinnaird and Irene McGavisk Kinnaird; sister, Carol Scheiterle; granddaughter, Aubrey “Bree” Pinson; great-grandson, Bryce Steven Bennett.

Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
