Brenda Williams Obituary

Brenda Manlove was born July 26, 1948 to Andrew and Beatrice Manlove. She was the oldest of six children. Her life began in Nashville, Tennessee where she attended school, began singing and building a relationship with God. Brenda was preceded in death by her mother and father, and one brother Silas Nixon.

Brenda attended Wharton Elementary School, Pearl High School and Tennessee State University where she built lasting friendships and gained skills that would open doors for her future according to God’s plan.

At an early age, Brenda embraced the gift of singing planted by God, so she spent years honing her gift as a vocalist. She knew she wanted to share her gift with the world by traveling and singing. She was blessed to sing background for Robert Goulet touring Europe, Australia, and Asia. And as the Director of Marketing for Ray & Ross Charter Bus service, she traveled to South America, Canada and various other states and islands. She enjoyed every moment and did it all with a grateful heart. One of her biggest joys was winning a trip to Africa from a game show.

Brenda continued to sing professionally for many years in other countries as well as in Las Vegas. Her adverse professional singing career even included performing in Country Fever at the Golden Nugget. Even though her professional singing career came to end, her singing continued to bloomsome for the kingdom of God. She sang on praise teams and in choirs for many years.

During her time in Las Vegas, she met Johnny Wiliams the man that would become her soulmate for life and that would make her life complete. Johnny and Brenda married in 1995 and celebrated 28 years of marriage under God’s protection. Brenda worked as a Cocktail Waitress, Director of the Boy & Girls Club and retired as a Management Analyst with the Clark County.

On July 25, 2024 Brenda went to be with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory; her beloved husband Johnny Williams, four brothers Ronny Manlove (Shari), Richard Manlove (Sharon), Samuel Nixon, and Kenneth Nixon; stepdaughter Lashelle Montgomery,  grandchild Brianna Montgomery, Sister-in-law Tonya Matlock, the Covenant Christian Fellowship family, a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephew and nieces, cousins, and friends.

Brenda left this earth one day before her birthday and a few days before her twenty-ninth wedding anniversary. God’s plans are bigger than ours but know that Brenda received the best gifts of all in heaven, “Precious Is Your Name” .
