Sean Lamont Wharton, beloved son of Bertie V. Strand and the late Charles Strand, was born on September 16, 1970 in Nassau County, Long Island, New York. God in his infinite wisdom, called him from labor to reward on July 26, 2024 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, Virginia.
Sean received his early education in the public schools of Westbury, New York. Upon moving to Accomac, Virginia, he enrolled in the public schools of Accomack County. In later years, “Dink,” as he was affectionately known, earned his General Education Diploma.
Sean was employed at C&B Painting Enterprises for over twenty years, alongside his father and brother. They were very close and had a bond that was unbreakable.
On September 20, 2014, he entered into holy matrimony with Marlo Kelisa Trader. Their union was blessed with nine years until his untimely passing. He began to experience health challenges over the past year and a half. He hid his heart condition very well on the outside, nobody really knew the pain he endured on the inside. No more pain no more suffering, take your rest husband and be at peace. I love you forever and you were truly a blessing to have as my husband, gone but will never be forgotten.
In his leisure, Sean loved to cook and spend time with his family and friends. His greatest joy came from being with his sons, grandchildren, and the family dog, Summer.
Dink leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of nine years, Marlo Wharton of Accomac, VA; sons, Dontrell Trader (Kwit) of Belle Haven, VA, Vontrell Trader (Alicia) of Virginia Beach, VA, Rayshawn Trader (Melissa) of Greensboro, NC, and Javonte Trader (Keasia) of Suffolk, VA; daughter, Renae Davis of Asbury, NJ; nineteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Bertie V. Strand; three brothers, Douglas Strand, Theutis (Melissa) Wharton, and Marcus (Keisha) Baines; sisters, Melissa Wharton and Zwanda West; sisters-in-law, Annazetta (Dawn) Trader, Michelle Copes, and Shirley Smith; brother-in-law, Brian Johnson; special friends, TJ, Chuck, and Zell; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lovingly and sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
