Carolyn Dean Watson, 89, of Yulee, Florida passed away on July 26th, 2024 at Community Hospice in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Born in December 18,1934 in Hazlehurst, Georgia to the late Dudley A. Dean, Sr. and Sadie Marie Dean. She grew up in Baxley, Georgia and graduated from Baxley High School in 1953. She married David Michael Watson in 1954.

As a homemaker she and David welcomed four children into their home. Carolyn was accomplished at and greatly enjoyed tennis. She was instrumental in bringing women's team tennis to Fernandina Beach. She also enjoyed sewing - everything from dresses for her girls to Humpty Dumpty dolls for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, David, and 5 brothers and two sisters.

Carolyn leaves behind her four children Evelyn Marie Watson, Carol Hope (Richard), Mike Watson (Deb), Roger Watson; two grandchildren Justin Hope, Brittin Wilson; and three great-grandchildren Emma Hope, Ben Hope, Caydence Wilson. She also leaves behind three sisters Sonja Crews (Bo), Sandra Turner, Jennifer Snyder; and one brother Randy Dean (Rosemary). Also, numerous nieces, nephews, and children by marriage. And a special friend of the family, Vickie Watson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home.
