Dr. David Allen Miller, age 63, passed away at home (Westerville) in the comforts of hospice and surrounded by family after a very courageous battle with ALS. Despite a devastating diagnosis, he did not let ALS define him; he never missed an opportunity to convey his love or share a laugh.
David was born in Akron, Ohio to Leo and Irene Miller in 1961, and attended Walsh Jesuit High School and University of Akron, which later prepared him to obtain his doctoral degree in medicine through Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (now NEOMED). He had a long career in primary care and hospital medicine, serving his patients faithfully through both the AIDS crisis and COVID-19 pandemic. He was beloved by his patients and his co-workers. He was an avid reader and learner, and enjoyed many hobbies throughout his lifetime including woodworking, photography, marksmanship, golf, and family vacations to Disney. His most recent hobby was watching his small grandchildren discover the world and loving them in every way.
He is survived by his wife, Debbra, to whom he was married for 39 years, his daughter and son-in-law Stephannie and David Aronovic with their sons Bennett and Caden, his son and daughter-in-law Nathan and Ally Miller, and his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Bryne Miller. David was a beloved husband, father, grandpapa, uncle, and friend whose presence is sorely missed.
