Pelzer - Eddie Furman Alverson, 79, widower of Vicki Elaine Sams Alverson, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late James Cleveland Alverson and Clara Belle Tollison Alverson Kuykendall. Eddie retired from Cryovac and was a member of Washington Baptist Church. He was also a Mason.

Survivors include son, Donnie Alverson of Piedmont; daughter, Tammy Alverson Lopez of Gray Court; brother, Irving Alverson (Ann) of Piedmont; sister, Nancy Tollison (Norman) of Fountain Inn; grandchildren, Jessie Alverson, Reneé Butler (Eli), and James Brown; and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Randy Alverson; sisters, Helen Mitchell, Frances Arms, Bobbie Jean Woods; Elizabeth Childress; and brother, Billy Alverson.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
